Mutations de l'environnement financier et restructuration du secteur financier international : étude d'une stratégie d'adaptation bancassurance : fondements théoriques, facteurs et produits

La bancassurance est (enfin!) arrivée en République Démocratique du Congo (RDC) : Trust Merchant Bank (TMB) et Rawbank sont désormais bancassureurs. Le phénomène de la bancassurance qui remonte au XIXème siècle en Allemagne, n'est devenu courant qu'avec le lancement de l'ensemble des banques à partir des années quatre-vingts. Le redémarrage de ce phénomène ces dernières années, mais surtout son arrivée en RDC, nous conduit à mettre à la disposition du public scientifique et professionnel les éléments tant théoriques qu’empiriques pour mieux l’appréhender. Après l’analyse de principales mutations ayant conduit à la restructuration financière internationale, cet article présente un aperçu de la bancassurance au niveau international. Les fondements théoriques de cette stratégie y sont ensuite abordés avec détails. Et enfin, les facteurs ayant contribué à son développement ainsi que les produits offerts dans le cadre de la bancassurance sont traités.

Abstract
Bancassurance has finally arrived in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Currently, Trust Merchant Bank (TMB) and Rawbank are the two bancassurance institutions in DRC. The phenomenon of bancassurance, which dates to the 19th century in Germany, became common around the 1980s when all banks started offering the insurance products to their customers. Its revival in recent years, particularly its arrival in the DRC, prompts us to make available to scientists and professionals the theoretical and empirical concepts allowing its understanding. After analyzing the main changes leading to the international financial restructuring around the world, this article presents the scope of bancassurance at the international level. We first discuss in detail the theorical foundations of this strategy. Then, we present the factors that contribute to its expansion as well as different products offered as part of bancassurance services.
